  • Wild Canary Botanical Bistro is a unique, garden-inspired venue celebrating local food, seasonal produce, weddings, events, and of course our beautiful bespoke cakes! We’re looking for a Junior Social Media Coordinator to help us share the magic of Wild Canary with the world. This role is perfect for students or anyone looking for flexible casual hours.

    About the Role
    As our Social Media Coordinator, you will:

    • Capture and create content highlighting our seasonal menus, handcrafted cakes, gardens, and events

    • Help showcase weddings and special events hosted at Wild Canary

    • Create engaging photos, videos, and social media posts that reflect our brand and aesthetic

    • Collaborate with managers and owners to ensure content meets brand guidelines

    • Work independently to develop creative ideas that bring Wild Canary to life online

    Who We’re Looking For
    We want someone who is:

    • Passionate about local food, seasonal produce, cakes, hospitality, weddings, and events

    • Creative, driven, and self-motivated

    • Comfortable collaborating with managers and owners while also working independently

    • Experienced in photography, video content creation, and social media management (or eager to learn!)

    • Available to work weekdays and weekends

  • Sous Chef

    Wild Canary is seeking a skilled, calm, and motivated Sous Chef to join our botanical bistro set within the beautiful Brookfield Gardens. We’re a busy breakfast and lunch venue, we also host select private evening events and weddings.

    This position is hands-on and leadership focused. You’ll work closely with our experienced and supportive Head Chef, ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly day-to-day while maintaining high standards, efficient systems, and a positive team culture.

    Role Responsibilities

    • Lead day-to-day kitchen operations

    • Run the pass during busy breakfast and lunch service

    • Oversee prep systems, organisation, and consistency

    • Manage ordering, stock levels, and supplier relationships

    • Uphold food safety and compliance

    • Train, support, and mentor the kitchen team

    • Contribute to seasonal menu development

    • Maintain waste management and portion control

    Ideal Background

    • Experienced Chef de Partie ready to step up, or a Sous Chef seeking a well-structured, quality-focused role

    • Strong organisational skills and prep systems

    • Positive leader with excellent communication

    • Calm under pressure and committed to high standards

    • Café/bistro or brunch experience highly regarded

  • Wild Canary is looking for Cafe All-rounders to join our fun and energetic team.  You must be fast on your feet, able to multitask, have great customer service and work well in a fast-paced environment.  Flexibility to work a rotating roster that includes weekends. 


    Job tasks and responsibilities: 

    • Greeting customers

    • Waiting tables

    • Running food and drinks

    • Barista experience (preferred - not essential)

    • General cafe duties

     

    To be considered for this role you should:

    • Be available on weekdays and weekends

    • Have at least 2 years’ experience as a Café All-rounder in similar venue

    • Be outgoing and friendly

    • Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume environment

    • Able to work well under pressure

    • Work well in a team environment

    • Outgoing and have a friendly personality

    • Must have positive attitude, good work ethic, team player and communication skills and willing to assist in all necessary daily café duties

    • Have a passion for for hospitality, food, coffee and customer service

    • Reliable and have current RSA

    • Be available on weekdays and weekend availability essential

    • Have Australian work rights (valid for at least 12 months)

    • As we are a 7 day a week operation for breakfast and lunch, we would prefer someone with flexible availability.

  • Wild Canary is looking for an experienced high-volume Barista to join our fun and energetic team.  You must be fast on your feet, have a strong background in hospitality, experience using specialty coffee, able to multitask, have great customer service and work well in a fast-paced environment.  Flexibility to work a rotating roster that includes weekends.

    This is a Casual position with the opportunity for part-time or full-time employment available to the right candidate.

     

    Job tasks and responsibilities: 

    • Speciality coffee experience

    • Deliver beverages in line with our standards

    • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the coffee station

    • Greeting customers

    • Waiting tables

    • Running food and drinks

    • General Café /

    • Restaurant duties

    • Upholding our high standard of customer service

     

    To be considered for this role you should:

    • Be available on weekdays and weekends

    • Have at least 2 years’ experience as a Barista in similar venue

    • Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume environment

    • Able to work well under pressure

    • Work well in a team environment

    • Must have positive attitude, good work ethic, team player and communication skills and willing to assist in all necessary daily café duties

    • Have a passion for hospitality, coffee and strong product knowledge and excellent customer service

    • Have current RSA

    • Be available on weekdays and weekend availability essential

    • Have Australian work rights (valid for at least 12 months)

    • As we are a 7 day a week operation for breakfast and lunch, we would prefer someone with flexible availability.
