KATE MITCHELL | DOWN THE ROAD
Kate Mitchell is a Brisbane based artist working in watercolour and mixed media. Having always been creative, Kate had the opportunity to learn watercolour painting while living in Manila, The Philippines. Returning to Australia years later, she joined a watercolour art group as a way of making new friends in a new city, and continued to develop my own style.
Her vibrant chicken artworks came about after watching my neighbour's funny ‘chooks’ experimenting with the combination of watercolour paint, ink, and colourful paper feathers to bring their personalities to life.

SUE ROWSELL ~ SHORELINES
We are looking forward to welcoming back Brisbane based artist Sue Rowsell.
Sue Rowsell is a Brisbane-based artist and architect who has been painting and drawing since childhood. She works predominantly with oils with a focus on capturing elements of the natural world around her.
Shorelines, her current series of paintings, interprets Australia’s familiar and well-loved Eastern coastline. Sue’s compositions evoke an emotional response to the landscape by capturing the essence of the coast and celebrating the ritual of escaping to the beach.
Each of the artworks explores a different aspect of the coast, from the intimate experience of walking to the beach, to taking in vast views from prominent headlands and engaging with the native flora and fauna which grows at its edges.
